Abstract—In the global and competitive environment the System Maintenance is not an easy task. The system is designed for optimal mix, i.e., maximum impact at minimum cost and it increases the maintainability of the machines. In this study, optimizing the cost of reliability model for one-unit system having post repair, preventive maintenance and replacement has been presented. Mathematical Expressions to be work out with reliability measures along with the cost of maintenance for one-unit system of post repair with the help of regenerative point technique. In this paper, maintenance is defined in two ways, i.e., Preventive maintenance and Corrective maintenance. The cost function is developed as taking consideration for cost per unit time for preventive and corrective maintenance. Analytical study is to be presented with diagrammatic and graphical presentation with cut-off points for various rates/costs for optimization purpose. Index Terms—Optimization technique Cost of preventive maintenance, Inspection, Repair, Hardware reliability engineering, Regenerative point technique, Post inspection, Post repair, Failure, Measures of the system effectiveness
